Well… that sounds harsh, don’t it?

We get asked about sales and discounts often. We get it. It is human nature to want a deal and a steal. Here at MGR STL we don’t partake very often…

Now, hold on a sec and stay with us here… There are GOOD reasons why…
Kindly let us explain…

1.
We price everything pretty aggressively to begin with…

We thrive on quick turnaround and typically have our items marked down to the bone already. Yes, there are occasional rarities and special cases where we simply can’t be the lowest on the block – but if so, it will be just for those reasons: Rarity (find another as they say…), and Condition (cleaner means the price has to be a little meaner).

2.
We don’t enjoy the ‘mark it up to mark it down’ game…

Again – fast turnaround means keeping things honest. And, us being a family run shop, keeping it honest is super important to us. You’re not getting a deal if something is marked up 30% and you score a 20% courtesy. It’s a sham. Why play that way?

3.
It takes too much time to play pricing games…

We are a small (but physically big) family shop and we need to keep our tasks as lean as we can. We would rather be educating customers and spending time on proper gear research, gear hunting, and gear acquiring – rather than haggling. It saves you time as well! What you see is what you get – honest, quick, no fuss. We are certain you are usually going to agree with our approach and our pricing. Our success gives credence to this…

4.
When we do offer a sales event – it is as a THANK YOU to you and/or a BENEFIT to others…

We like to reward our customers with in-store sales events. Our annual birthday is one such event. And one close to our heart is our annual Food Bank drive event. We see the community come together with us to help others – and we like to give out rewards and discounts as a gracious acknowledgment of those efforts.

So – remember – everyday EVERYTHING is a sale by nature of our credo, the beauty of “Reuse. Recycle. Rock.” – and our desire to put great gear into eager hands quickly.
